Our recital program for Ed Mascari Piano Studio adult piano students is a more informal program that is graciously hosted at the home of one of our long time piano students. This year, our evening piano recital program consisted of performances by adult students at the home of Lisa and Jerry Carroll of Natick. Performing at the 7:00 PM recital were seven of Ed Mascari's adult piano students, Steve Emery, Elaine Recklet, Richard Blacquier, Ananya Chatterjee, Kelly Rutherford, Mary Rapa, Sarah Reiss, Lisa Carroll and Ken Taylor.

The students played a nice mixture of selections by George Gershwin, Michel Legrand, Richard Rodgers, Henry Mancini and Harold Arlen as well as classical favorites by J.S. Bach and Beethoven.

Among the many highlights was a performance by Sarah Reiss of Blue Moon by Richard Rodgers. Sarah She's been taking lessons from Ed for 2 years. Lisa Carroll performed a medley of The Summer Knows and Summertime. Lisa took classical piano lessons as a child and has now been studying with Ed for 6 years. She is a former graphic artist who holds double balckbelts in Karate and several awards for horsemanship.

Ken Taylor performed Speak Low by Weill. Self taught on piano until meeting Ed, Ken has also studied the guitar. Ken works as a Computer software engineer/project manager. He enjoys using "Band in a Box" to accompany his piano playing and has set up his own piano blog that showcases some of his recording efforts. Read more about Ken on our Student Showcase page.

It's become tradition to end the adult recitals with a duet and this year the recital was brought to a rousing finish with a piano duet of Days of Wine and Roses by Henry Mancini, performed by Ken Taylor and Ed.

Our gracious hosts provided refreshments and a good time was had by all!
