Naoko Fukaya
Ed Mascari Piano Studio Faculty Member, Natick, MA
Experienced Teacher, Pianist, Composer and Performer
Naoko Fukaya holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the Longy School of Music and is currently pursuing her Graduate Performance Diploma there. Her experience as a private piano instructor spans continents, beginning in 2004 in Tokyo, Japan. Continuing in 2007 in Hartford, CT and Cambridge, MA and now, in 2011 at the Ed Mascari Piano Studio in Natick, MA. Naoko has performed in many classical piano recitals including a recital in Fukushima, Japan in 2004 and one in Pickman Hall in Cambridge, MA in 2010. There she performed works by an eclectic group of composers including Scarlatti, Beethoven, Bolcom and Chopin. She has also performed at the School of Museum of Fine Arts, in Boston MA.
Naoko Fukaya is able to give her piano students a deeper understanding and appreciation of Western music, and increase their interest in music by creating a fun learning environment for all students. The unsurpassed beauty of classical music in all forms, from opera to chamber music, and by every composer, from J.S. Bach to Giacomo Puccini, has the power to explore human emotion in its most natural state; the way no written words could ever hope to do. Naoko enjoys expanding her student's interest in music by combing teaching with composing and improvising. She is also an accomplished saxophonist and has arranged several works for saxophone ensemble including the Pulcinella Suite by Igor Stravinsky.
Ms. Fukaya is teaching on Tuesday's at the Ed Mascari Piano Studio in Natick, Massachusetts.
